Weekend Update

I had a pretty excellent weekend. Spent Friday night with my roommate/friend Nan at Black Sheep where her boyfriends band (The Timmys) played a show. Saw an old friend and was a bit disappointed that we didn't have more time to catch up. Hopefully she will be back in town sometime soon. Saturday morning I woke up and had a package from Dressing On The Side sitting on my front porch. These shirts are without a doubt the softest I have ever owned. I didn't want to take them off all weekend! Saturday Kyle & I went to look at a house and we drove past the house we really want to rent. Still haven't heard back from the owners and I have a feeling I probably won't. Oh well, something will come along! We also rented some movies this weekend that I have been waiting to see- The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest & Howl. I'm not sure how I felt about either one of these films. I'll think about it and perhaps write up a little something on both of them later. Sunday night Kyle & I watched the SAG Awards, which were fairly predictable. I love me some awards shows but so far they haven't been very exciting. I also finished Everlost by Neal Shusterman. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and would love to give it to my little sister to read. So all in all a fairly pleasant weekend. I leave you with this:

I love John Waters almost as much as I love SNL.

Etsy Love -- BettyTurbo

Before Christmas I spent a lot of time on Etsy trying to find the perfect gifts for my friends and family and I am so very happy that I came across BettyTurbo's Etsy shop. Everything she makes is just pure awesome. Here are some of my favorites:

rusted brandy in a diamond glass

Somehow I just found a blog I wrote my senior year of high school & I realized I spent almost the entire year of 2005 in a drunken state. Which is only funny because now, at age twenty three, I don't drink at all. Ok, I take that back, two days ago I had a hot chocolate with rum in it and it was so delicious I could have had about five more. Amber bought it for me, so of course I had to drink it.  Amber has this way of making me do things I would normally never do , which is fine by me. I tend to become really hermit-y and I kind of put this wall up around myself so I don't have to deal with things, she is just about the only person who knows how to penetrate my defenses. This is one of the thousand reasons she is my best friend and one of the most important people in my life. I truly have no idea what will happen when we have to move away from each other. I don't even like to think about. I prefer to leave this problem to Future Morgan & Future Amber.

Socks!

I really, really love silly socks. This morning I stumbled upon this blog, which led me to these:

Aren't they super duper adorable? I'm not even a huge fan of Superman and I really want those! You can find them here.

Etsy + Blog Love (Violet Bella)

Laura might just be one of my all time favorite bloggers. Her blog is full of inspiration and amazing pictures. Her etsy shop is brilliant. I love everything this girl makes! I'm trying to put away some money for this or maybe this.

(I forgot to add that she also has a photography shop on etsy!)

I still believe in the sound, that has the power to raise a temple and tear it down.
