Sleep Eating

Lock Up Your Cat Food and Tie Yourself to the Bed

Accidentally eating strange things in the middle of the night — not just for Ambien users anymore! It turns out there's also a kind of sleep-related eating disorder where people sleepwalk into the kitchen and make themselves elaborate snacks. I'll admit that at first this sounded like maybe it wouldn't be so bad — who wouldn't love to enjoy some beef bourguignon in the wee hours of the morning? But it's freaky because people do dangerous things like leave the oven on, and one woman awoke from an episode and "found an open, half-eaten can of cat food and she was not sure if she had really fed it to her cat."
And you think it's bad to have it, try being married to it:
"Some patients even bring food back to bed, so even if it wouldn’t bother you if your spouse got up every night, few of us would want to wake up to find our spouse in the bed pulling apart a greasy chicken and throwing the carcass under the covers."
So true. Very, very few — in fact almost zero of us — would want to wake up next to a greasy chicken carcass! But relax, only 4% of young adults get it so you're probably fine.

I find this to be extremely hilarious as I really do have a sleep eating problem, anyone who knows me is aware of this. I often wake up with chocolate stuck to my jammie pants, or melted in to my duvet. Sometime it's gummy bears, which are really hard to get off of...well, anything. I'm glad to know it's not just myself and Liz Lemon who have this problem!

Fill In The Blank Tuesday

So I am really bored at work and I thought I might try this as a way to pass some time. Via : The Curious Pug

1. The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is "What the What? & "What the fuck?!"

2. Today I am thankful for
my lovely boyfriend who makes me delicious sammiches, starts hot baths for me, makes muffins while I'm sitting on my ass reading a book and doesn't get flustered when I get in one of my moods.

3. My best friend is Amber Nicole Agnes Danger Fussyface Moore. She's pretty much the best.

4. A quirky thing about me is I can spout off random trivia at any given moment.

5. This weekend I plan on hanging out with some friends, cooking, getting our internet & cable set up, watching SNL, going to a trivia night with Kyle and some of his friends, catching up on some reading, finishing unpacking and who knows what else. We like to stay busy.

6. Something that worries me is having a temp position at work, I really want things to pick up so I can get hired on full time as I actually really enjoy my job and I need money!

7. On my night stand you would find a book, Bella, chapstick,a water bottle and an antique lamp.

Day 8, What's In My Bag:

I know this would be much more interesting with pictures but I still have yet to locate my camera and I bet you don't even care that much!
So here it goes

Front Pocket:
-C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve (so incredibly addicted to this stuff)
-Pack of Camel Lights & lighter (no lectures please, I am in the process of quitting and it's going better than expected)
-Art gallery flyer
-Prescription (that I have yet to take to the pharmacy, whoops!)
-Bills
-Comic
-$3
-Business cards

Inside pocket:
-Favorite Lucky Brand wallet (it has so much room for all my cards, checks, receipts, etc.)
-Super cute 2011-2012 planner, pink pen to go with
-Envelopes
-Grocery lists
-Post-it's
-Small mirror
-Small orange wallet for passport, other random important things
-Ice Breakers Ice Cubes in peppermint
-Bottle of Vitamin B12
-Birth Control
-Small Joker notepad
-Anti-Bac hand spray that smells like Pez
-Oral-B Glide Pro-Heath Floss in Fresh Mint
-Mints
-Keys (with plenty of silly key chains & my work ID)
-Tampons
-Concealer
-Extra pens
-Nasonex
-Shea Butter lip balm
-Large notebook
-Books (I always have at least one, if not two books with me. Today's book is Big Boned by Meg Cabot, because I was in a girly mood, and honestly who doesn't love Meg Cabot?!)

So that's it. My bag is huge and grey and studded. It's full of awesome. I really think I need to clear it out though. Hmmm. Maybe sometime later this week.

What about you? What do you keep in your bag?

Day 7, Blog Goals:

Look, I'm not going to lie, I rarely set goals for myself regarding my online life, but I tried to come up with a few and here they are.

-Come up with a weekly feature that shows a little more about who I am & what I am interested in (suggestions? anyone? no? ok.)
-Movie/Book Reviews (I would love to do this as I am something of a movie snob & read just about any book I can get my hands on)
-DIY projects (we are setting up our studio now & soon I will dig through the boxes under our bed to find my camera!)
-Artist features (I'll probably start with people I know in real life and then branch out to my favorite Etsy folk)
-Blogger meet up! (Someday! But seriously, it would be cool to round up some Midwest folk and get our fun on, right?)

So, that's that! What about you guys? Do you have any goals for your blog? I love finding new things to read, so please feel free to link your blogs/projects/Etsy shop in the comments below.

Day 6, Least Favorite Words:

Not a lot of words bother me, but here are the ones that do

-Twat
-Paper cut
-Needle
-Panties
-Depressed
-I see (I suppose this is a phrase, but I hate when people use it, it generally indicates that someone is pissed off, or for me it does...)

There you have it. I don't have any words that really, really bother me. Just these. Unless I can think of something else. I'll be back with Day 7 later today!

Happy Monday

Day 5, Weekend Goals:

I know this is a day late, but here is part of my list for Day 5

-Clean out the old apartment, turn in key (Done)
-Catch up on my shows (Chuck, HIMYM, Castle, The Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, Community, & SNL (in the process of doing this now. Kyle and I are sitting at Panera eating some soup and stealin' some interwebs)
-Get all of our laundry done (This is my Sunday chore, I like getting it all done in one day)
-Make muffins (made delicious blueberry muffins Friday night)
-Find some pants that fit my hips (someday)
-Visit friends
-Go to Target (done, unfortunately-I always spend so much money there!)

That's pretty much it. I've done so much this weekend that I am quite sure my legs might fall off!

Ok, time to catch up on some stuff!

xx

edit: Apparently only two of our shows were on this last week! I refuse to partake in the Miley Cyrus hosted SNL.
