Weekend Update

Well, we got all moved in this weekend and I am so very happy. I will make a point to take some pictures after we are all unpacked. We don't have cable or internet set up just yet so I will probably be a bit spotty on posting, but I will try my hardest to keep up! Don't forget 30 Days of Lists starts tomorrow!

More on this weekend later.

Pay It Forward 2011

So I think this is a pretty neat idea!
Found it over at tenpenny spendid.

It goes like this:
Be one of the first five people to comment on this post & you will receive something handmade from me. I don't yet know what that thing will be, but I can't wait to try! Anywho, post this on your own blog or site (whichever) & send something handmade to the first five people to comment on your post before 2011 is over.

Sounds like fun, right? Right!

My Poor Friend Me

This morning has been a bit of a bummer. Every morning I go to the gas station up the street for a delicious 32 oz fountain soda. So I go as usual and decide I will also get some gas (it's so outrageously priced right now, plus I just hate the act of pumping gas) & went in for my soda. Anywho, went on my merry way and unfortunately got stopped by the train which always takes forever. This guy in front of me kept stopping and going at really alarming rates of speed and I guess it was too much for my soda because it came flying out of the cup holder and spilled all over my floor. I didn't realize the bottom had broke out so I hastily retrieved it and set it back in the cup holder. I ended up having to use my Harry Potter scarf to mop up the mess and realized both of my cup holders were full of soda. How obnoxious. I didn't have time to properly clean it because I really just needed to get to work. The traffic was sort of a beast this morning and I'm quite sure a city snow plow slammed my car a little bit, but I haven't had a look yet. Sigh. Stupid Friday, you were supposed to be awesome. We get the keys to our new place tonight and get to start moving some stuff in. I am hoping this goes really well because I can't take another day of annoying mishaps.

Grumble Grumble Grumble.

I hope the rest of you are having a really awesome day.

I Heard That Zombies Ate Her Brain

I am regretting the decision to pack up all my DVD's right now. There isn't much on yet and I've been off work for almost four an a half days now.

Friday I spent getting a lot of stuff done packing-wise and caught up on a lot of shows that have been slowly taking over my DVR.

Saturday I was supposed to go to a yoga/vegetarian potluck with my mom and sister but forgot I had an appointment to get my hair trimmed, so I met them after for the potluck & we made a trip to Food Fantasies for some soaps and what not. Bre came home with me & sifted through all sorts of stuff that I was planning on donating. She ended up taking home ten bags of clothing, shoes, etc. Had dinner with the family and then came home and hung out with Kyle.

Sunday was really busy and fun. We spent some time hanging out with our good friends & their adorable daughter Esme. One of my best friends was in town for her mom's birthday, so a few of us met up for dinner and went over to our friend Cam's later to hang out and catch up.

We had Monday off for President's Day which was fine and dandy.

Tuesday was far less pleasant. I had an appointment for an EMG, which was rather traumatizing. It was a lot of shocking and placement of needles in my arms and hands (I have a serious needle phobia), so needless (hah) to say I was not into the idea of going to work after this. I figured I would be fine, but the process was quite long and rather uncomfortable. After the doctor Amber & I caught up on some television, had lunch at Cafe Moxo (we got these brilliant s'mores cupcakes), and went to the Elf Shelf. I got several awesome books that I am really excited about. One of the books I bought was part of a series I've been trying to finish so I was thrilled to find it for $20 off the sticker price. I also found some Buffy Watcher's Guides (I know, I know- I also have the scripts from Season 1), a few books that I loved when I was my sister's age, and a few other odds and ends all for under $30. Kyle & I have decided to dedicate a bookshelf in our new home to 'Books That Need To Be Read Before Visiting Amazon.com'. Anyway, in the evening we all packed up some of our kitchen doodads, which made me want to buy some new tea towels and pots & pans.

Today has been quite boring, but busy. I went to work in the morning but we were all sent home at noon because the work volume was just too small. I was really bummed because I need the money badly, but I figured I could use the time to do some errands. I went to the office to get some tax forms, went to the bank to change my address, picked up some medicine, had a visit with my old boss, balanced my checkbook, called my insurance company, and paid some bills. I feel so grown up! Kidding, I've been doing this for a long time but it still looks like a twelve year old boy inhabits my living area.

I guess I've rambled on for long enough and should find something productive to do with all of this time.

Things I Am Looking Forward To In March:

I am really excited for the 30 Days of Lists project! I love making lists! Who doesn't?

The project starts on March 1st & you can find all the information and prompts right here.

I am going to try my hardest to not only keep an art journal with my lists, but to also share them on this blog. I think it will be a fun way to get to know other bloggers & an interesting way to keep track of this particular time in my life. Of course we will be moving for the first week of March, but I feel like I can handle this. Surely it will calm my nerves...

Anywho, I hope you do join in the fun and I can't wait to see how this all turns out!

You can find some cute pre-made notebooks here.

Michael Emerson

Today I heard the best news ever:
Michael Emerson is reuniting with Lost creator J.J. Abrams.
The actor has been cast in the lead of the CBS pilot Person of Interest, which Abrams is executive producing, Emerson's rep confirms.
CBS gave the greenlight to Person of Interest last week. The one-hour crime drama was created by Abrams and screenwriter Jonathan Nolan. Emerson will play a billionaire who works to stop violent crime along with an ex-CIA agent.

I am only slightly obsessed with this man (my bunny is named after his character on Lost). I absolutely cannot wait for this to happen.

Recommended Reading

I don't want to give any bit of this book away, but it is truly one of the best YA novels I have read in years (and I've read tons of them). The characters are very realistic and I think just about anyone can relate to them. Seriously, do yourself a favor and buy a copy.

Reason # 4815162342 I Love My Best Friend:

Work today has been utterly boring and incredibly slow, so I sent Amber an email asking her to tell me a story, this is what her response was:

Once upon a time there were these two awesome ladies. They had matching tattoos and were best friends forever. eventually they became Queens of America and all the stupid people were shipped off to Kentucky Island, where they belonged. All rejoiced and were happy. The End.

Nirrimi

I am just obsessed with every photo this girl takes, they are unbelievable. So gorgeous I can barely stand it!

Such an eye for everything. All found on her blog- We Live Young

To Take You Home

This last week has been so very busy! We've spent a lot of time packing which is kind of fun, honestly. I keep finding all these funny things people have made for me, and of course I have run across so many things I wish I hadn't held on to. Spent a good bit of time shredding old letters the other day. Anyway, we had a lovely weekend- Friday a big group of us (Amber, Mel, Brian, Kyle & I) went to Bloomington to see Against Me!, which was fun and awfully sweaty. Saturday Kyle & I went to Barnes & Noble and I could smack myself for spending more money on books. I have an awful habit of buying books when I should be saving money. Oh well. I just love reading! We also spent some time hanging out with Erin which was nice as we rarely get time to spend together. Sunday was more packing, cleaning and lounging. For Valentines Day, Kyle and I stayed in and watched all of our favorite shows (except for HIMYM), ate delicious grilled cheese sammiches & chocolate covered strawberries my stepmom made for us. It was really nice & relaxing. I also got some of my favorite treats (Hershey's with almonds and a huge bag of blue raspberry Sour Patch kids), a rose & a cute picture frame with some of our photos from Europe. He is such a thoughtful boy and I really do love him more than anything. I leave you with an old photo of us from Vienna, probably the day after I arrived and was horribly sick for three days. I look like I haven't slept in days. <3

X-Men: First Class

Cavalier Eternal

I'm really excited to see Against Me! tonight, as long as they play nothing off the new album, I'm good. Well, to be fair I like one song off that album.

so girl, i'm sorry but i'm leaving.
we're both at fault, we're both to blame.
and it wasn't the other men cause there were other women.
this just isn't love, it's just the remorse of a loss of a feeling

Etsy Love -- Home Edition

Just a few things that I really want for the new place.

I bet we had a better time than you.

So Kyle and I got the townhouse and I am beyond thrilled. We went over last night to sign the lease and leave the security deposit. I also get to keep the Bunster, he'll have his own room and everything. After we signed the lease we had to stop by my parents for a check since they were kind enough to help us out with half of the security deposit. My stepmom has already started decorating and she hasn't even seen the place yet. She just goes nuts everytime I get a new place. This one is special though.

I've started scouring Etsy for some essentials and oh man, I am so excited to do some shopping. I think I will put together a post on all the things I am dreaming of getting!

Growing Up & Giving In

I am so not looking forward to this impending move. It's so time consuming and stressful. Kyle & I applied for this amazing townhouse with 3 levels, 2 full bathrooms, 3 rooms, and a freaking sauna. It's such a lovely place and I can see staying there for an extended period of time if I get hired on at my current job. Having a temp job is okay for now, but it won't be for much longer. I guess I am just overwhelmed with the amount of stuff changing in my life. I'm excited for Kyle and I to start some semblance of a life together. I'll miss living with my best lady friends, but we are all going through different changes in life and I think this will make a big difference for all of us. I can't wait to have my own craft room! I think Mr. Bunjamin Linus is ready for his own room as well. I just realized I've had nothing to eat all day, so I think I should get on that.

There's nights that I can't even walk, there's days I couldn't give a fuck and in between is where I'm stuck.
